I've been getting a lot of questions on Instagram about my current makeup routine. While I love makeup, I also love skincare. I take pride in my skincare routine because it helps keep my skin in great shape, which helps my makeup go on almost flawless. I will be posting my fall skincare routine next week so stay tuned for that. In the mean time, you can head over to the beauty category of my blog where I have other skin care routines posted! Before I start, I also want to say, I've been loving the Sigma makeup brushes! I purchased this face set and am totally obsessed.
STEP 1: PREP SKIN
After cleansing, I prep my skin with a serum first. I use either the Glossier Super Glow or Super Pure serum, depending on my skin that day. The Super Glow is my ultimate favorite because it brightens with vitamin c. The Super Pure serum is amazing for when you have a break out.
After serum, I apply moisturizer. Lately, I've been loving the Kate Somerville ExfoilKate Glow Moisturizer. It smells amazing, locks in moisture, and also gives the prettiest glow to your skin! I've found it to be a great base under my make up; however, I will apply a primer on top if I really need my make up to last that day. I go back and forth between the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Smoothie Primer & the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. Both are amazing and light weight!
STEP 2: FACE
After my skin is prepped, I apply my make up. First, I put on foundation. I swear by the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. You can read my review of this foundation here! To set my foundation, I use the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (review here - obsessed with this stuff!).
Next, I contour with the NARS bronzer in the shade Laguna. Then, I add blush. The shade I use totally depends on my mood. My two favorites are NARS Orgasm and MAC Warm Soul. After blush, I highlight with the NARS highlighter in the shade Hot Sand. I use the powder if I want it to look natural and blended. If I want it to be more prominent, I use the multi stick.
*The NARS palette pictured here was a special edition during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and is no longer available. The bronzer is Laguna and the highlighter is Hot Sand. The blush shades were all exclusive to the palette. This palette is another great option with similar shades. It's so nice being able to have all of my face powders in on spot!
STEP 3: EYES
For eyes, I keep basic. If I'm rushing (which is what I've been doing lately), I apply the NARS bronzer in the shade Laguna right in my crease with a fluffy brush so it blends nice. This adds enough dimension to look awake without doing a full eye look. If I have extra time, I love the neutral brown shades in this MAC eye palette if I want shimmer. If I want matte, I always go with the Naked2 Basics eye palette.
After eyeshadow (or bronzer), I fill in my brows with the Anastasia Brow Definer. This pencil is the bomb dot com. I love that it's angled because it gives a super natural look. The last step is mascara. I love the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer and Perversion Mascara. It has been my favorite combo to date that I always end up going back to. The primer helps keep the mascara in place without smudging, flaking, or smearing. The mascara is easy to layer because it's more of a wet formula compared to dry.
STEP 4: LIP BALM & SETTING SPRAY
Once my look is complete, I add a little lip balm. I absolutely love the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments because they are tinted, moisturizing, and last forever. I switch back and forth between the rose and nude shades. To top it off, I use the Kopari Coconut Rose Toner to set my makeup. This facial spray is amazing. I also use it to refresh throughout the day!
Whew! That was a long one. If you stayed with me, thanks for reading!
