Happy Sunday friends! I hope you're all having a great weekend! Just a little update if you're new here: I'm currently in the process of transitioning my beauty routine to safer, nontoxic products. Read this post to see why I'm making the switch and how to get started if it's something you've been wanting to do as well!
In addition to switching to safer products, one thing I have added to my beauty routine is a rose quartz facial roller. I've been seeing them everywhere so I did some research and decided I wanted to get one. If I'm being honest, the fact that it's pink is really why I initially wanted it, but the benefits have proven that it's more than just a pretty tool.
what does a rose quartz facial tool claim to do?
Rose quartz is a crystal that dates back to ancient history and is believed to promote feelings of unconditional love (think self love in this case) and help balance emotions. In terms of using it as a facial tool, it claims to increase circulation and blood flow, reduce puffiness, eliminate toxins and help with lymphatic drainage, and help skincare products absorb deeper into the skin.
does a rose quartz facial tool actually work?
I've been using this roller every night (and some mornings) for the past month or so and can say that it does in fact work! The results are more short term than long term. For example, I have seen a noticeable difference in reduced puffiness, especially under my eyes, immediately after using it. I have also noticed reduced redness in my cheeks after using it.
As far as helping products absorb deeper into the skin, I believe that is true. When using this roller, it's like giving yourself a mini facial. The added pressure of the tool on your skin will push your products deeper, in turn letting them do their jobs even better! My skin has been more glowy over the past couple weeks which I think is in part due to this, and because I started using a new vitamin c serum!
how do you use a rose quartz facial tool?
Now you might be wondering, is there any specific way you have to use the tool to see the benefits? The answer is yes! It is recommended to start in the center of your face and roll in an outward direction. Rolling in an outward direction is what helps with lymphatic drainage and release of toxins! You do not want to roll back and forth. You can use the larger end for your cheeks and forehead, and the smaller end for under your eyes and your chin. Use it at the end of your routine so your serums and oils can work their magic.
is there a difference between a rose quartz roller and a jade roller?
As far as the difference between rose quartz and jade, they are just two different types of stone. They are both believed to give off different energies and have different healing properties. I plan to get a jade roller so I can give a genuine comparisons of the two, but from what I have read, the benefits seem to be the same for both!
My exact rose quartz roller is currently out of stock. I purchased it from wood and oils on etsy. Be sure to follow @woodandoils on Instagram so you know when they are back in stock! You can find them elsewhere, but her price is reasonable compared to some and I always feel good when I support a small business!
As always, thanks so much for reading! Have you tried a rose quartz roller? If yes, leave a comment and share your experience!
