5 More Weeks!
Time is flying by you guys! I feel like I say that during every update I write, but it’s just so true! In five more weeks (give or take) we’re going to have a sweet baby girl in our arms. There are still times when it seems surreal, but now that I’ve had my baby shower and the nursery is coming along, reality is starting to set in.
Nursery
We’ve gotten so much accomplished in the nursery over the past few weeks and it’s giving me all the feels. Rob is seriously a gem. He tore out the carpet, found hardwood under that and tore that out as well. Then he laid new floor (we went with this one from Floor and Decor) and painted the walls Sherwin Williams Pure White. He also redid all of the trim to match the rest of the house which looks so good! I’ve been posting updates on Instagram as we go but will definitely do a full reveal here on the blog once it’s all complete, including before & after photos! Wait until you see the transformation!
So far we got two vintage style dressers, one to use as a changing table and one that I put in the closet. We just got the crib in last night and it’s perfect! The only issue I had was that there were a handful of rust spots on it, but Wayfair was kind enough to ship a new one without having us send the original one back! I’m expecting the new crib next week so I’ll keep you updated on that via Instagram. All that we have left to get is the rocker, a rug, curtains, and other decor and organizational items. Needless to say, it’s coming along and has definitely been a fun process!
Baby Shower
My baby shower was this past weekend and couldn’t have been more perfect! From the decor to the food to the weather, everything was magical and shades of pink! My dress was from Vici and I had it on in a size medium since the waist band was pretty stretchy and the dress itself is v flowy. As far as decor, the flowers were from Pocket Full of Posies, the table linens my MIL had from our rehearsal dinner last year, the plates and napkins etc came from Target online (this collection). My sister in law helped me with the balloon arch and it turned out perfect!
General Update/Symptoms
Now for the not so fun stuff. Two major things that have been annoying are the heart burn I get every day (I’ve never had heart burn before in my life) and TMI but the leakage that happens down there throughout the day. Like what the heck. That’s something no one tells you about so here I am saying it to you so you know what to expect! It’s annoying AF but a part of the journey (yes I’ve talked to my dr. about it - she actually asked if I was experiencing any - and it’s normal). Other than that, baby girl is still pretty much in the same position she’s been in for the past several weeks, feet always in my ribs and head down thankfully. She’s still super active and measuring right on! I do have an appointment tomorrow and then once a week from here on out! It’s craaazyyy. She will literally be here before we know it! Until then, I’m going to keep adding all the cute baby things to every online shopping cart I have open hehe!
