If you're new here, thanks for stopping by! If you're a long time reader, welcome back! Today I'm sharing my winter skincare routine which is quite possibly one of my favorite skincare routines to date. Keep reading to see how I'm keeping my skin looking and feeling it's best during the coldest months of the year.
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
CLEANSER
My favorite morning cleanser is the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This is always part of my routine whether I use it morning, night, or both. It is lightweight and gentle & makes my skin feel super clean.
SERUM
My go to serum is the Glossier Super Glow serum. It's only $28 and actually works! The vitamin C helps to brighten your skin over time. I also have noticed that it helps reduce dark spots. I love the way it looks & wears under my foundation. I have repurchased this & raved about it so many times!
MOISTURIZER
My current morning moisturizer is the Thomas Peter Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. I purchased it during the Sephora VIB sale and wrote a full review on it here. I am absolutely obsessed with it and don't know why I didn't purchase it sooner! I love how weightless it is (a little bit goes a long way). It absorbs into the skin SO quickly and keeps my face feeling hydrated all day! It wears great under makeup which is another plus.
NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE
PRECLEANSE
At night, I prefer to double cleanse my skin to be sure that all of the makeup, dirt, and oil is gone. To take off my makeup, I love the Damn Good Face Wash: The Works. It literally removes everyone last bit of foundation, mascara, everything! It is oil based and smells delish. I put it on my skin dry, then use a warm wash cloth to take everything off.
CLEANSER
To follow up with the Damn Good Face Wash, I use the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This has been working great for me morning and night right now.
EXFOLIATOR
I exfoliate every few days and right now I'm loving the Fresh Sugar Face Polish. I received this from Fresh as part of a holiday gift set. It's super fine which makes it safe to use on your face. Even though it's an exfoliator, it's also very moisturizing. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and clean! Another fave exfoliator of mine is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. I have used this for years and love it for when I have a breakout.
OIL
My absolute favorite oil is the Damn Good Face Oil: The Very Best. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is. I typically just use this in place of my moisturizer because it is super hydrating. It smells wonderful and a little bit goes a long way. I use about three drops, maybe four if I need some extra hydration.
MOISTURIZER
If my skin needs a little extra love, I'll layer a moisturizer over the oil. My go to right now is the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream. I raved about this in my fall skincare routine and it has transitioned perfectly into winter. It's more of a midweight cream so lathering it on at night feels great. The scent is also very citrus-y and mixes well with the Damn Good Face Oil!
MASKS
A have a few favorite masks right now, two of which I talked about in my fall skincare routine. The Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is great for exfoliating and brightening. I will typically use this in the morning before applying makeup, or during the day if it's a lazy day at home.
The Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque is a nighttime favorite of mine. If my skin needs some extra hydration, I will apply this over my face oil instead of a moisturizer. The directions say to wipe any excess off after 10 minutes; however, I think that's a waste. Instead of lathering it on and wiping the excess off, I put on just enough to where it all absorbs into my skin and I have seen great results from it!
If you're a fan of sheet masks, you have to try these by Lapcos! I had never used a sheet mask before, but now I'm sold. When I saw these on Anthropologie, the packaging caught my eye, and so did the price. For $14, you get five sheet masks. I've seen some packs that are double the price for only 3 masks! So far I have tried the Pearl (brightening) and Honey (nourishing) ones and I love them. They both left my skin feeling super soft and looking healthy. Even the next day I still had a little glow. Needless to say, I will be repurchasing these!
As always, thanks for reading!
