With each new year comes reflection and a list of new goals. As I reflect on 2016, I cannot say I accomplished every goal on my list. However, I can say that I grew. I made progress. I learned so much. I strived to be the best that I could be in all that I did. That is what matters. Taking a risk, giving your all, and never looking back. Acting in love, with intention. As I move forward on this beautiful journey we call life, I am feeling more inspired than ever. Today, I want to share some of my goals for the upcoming year.
GENERAL GOALS
Plan, plan, plan, and plan.
I've always been a planner, but this past year I struggled with planning. I had so much going on between school, work, blogging, and life, that my plans got away from me. Most of the time I felt like I was rushing around and doing things last minute. I was constantly stressed and lost my sense of direction. This year, I want to get back on track with my plans.
Create a new routine.
Just as my plans got away from me, so did my routine. Finishing up school was a challenge for me. I've been through six years of college, graduated summa cum laude twice, and now have two bachelor's degrees. The most demanding part of being in school came towards the end. At the same time, I was still working weekends and using any minute of free time to do things for my blog. Because I was trying to balance so many things at once, parts of my daily routine began to slip away. I wasn't going to the gym as much, if at all. I wasn't taking the time to just relax with Rob at the end of the night. My sleep schedule was a mess. This year, I will be able to revamp my routine now that I am done school (forever) and I will have less to balance.
Take steps toward living a healthier lifestyle.
You know when you know what you should be doing, but you just don't? We've all been there. "Drink your water. Do your squats. Get 8 hours of sleep each night." The things we need to be doing but somehow forget to do. The things that should take priority but seem to be last on the list. Taking care of ourselves is what's most important. Because if you don't have health, what do you have? This year I plan to take better care of myself. Which really comes down to integrating healthy lifestyle changes into my plans and daily routines.
BLOGGING GOALS
Share my favorite athleisure/lounge wear looks & brands.
This was on my list of goals last year and guess how many athleisure looks I posted? None. This was definitely due to lack of planning on my part. (How ironic since planning is something I want to improve this year.) Lounge wear and athleisure looks are some of my favorite because they're casual and cool. So stay tuned for some of my fave places to shop for comfortable, good quality activewear!
Share more beauty posts & hair tutorials.
Hair posts are probably my most requested. I did get a hair care post up last year, so my goal for this year is to post a tutorial on how exactly I style my hair. I did an Instagram live that was a "get ready with me" but I know not everyone is always available to watch at the same time. In addition to hair tutorials, I want to post more about skin care and makeup. I love all things beauty, and that is something I want to continue to share with you!
As always, thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone had a safe & happy new year!
