Happpy Friday! This week went by fairly quick for me. I think because it was my first full week of no class! I've been feeling so relaxed. Having the time to fully focus on the blog has been wonderful. I feel like I have so many ideas and so many things I want to do, and now I have the time to get it all done!
For today, I put together a little product review of some recent beauty buys. Long story short, I've been loving everything so I just had to share! First up: Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray Medium Finish. I'm a sucker for a great hairspray. This one by Moroccan Oil is fab. It smells delicious and it provides just enough hold for my every day loose waves to stay in place. It also comes in a strong and extra strong finish for those of you who like a little more control. One of my favorite things about the Moroccan Oil product line is their packaging. The bright colors are so eye catching, it just makes you want to buy it!
Next up: St. Tropez Gradual Tan in Shower. When it comes to self tanners, I usually stay away because I don't want to look fake or orange. I also love laying out in the sun (summer girl at heart) and getting a natural glow. I heard so many great reviews about St. Tropez and the sun hasn't really been shining lately so I decided to give this one a try. I chose this particular one because A. it's gradual and B. you use it in the shower. I figured since it was gradual I wouldn't look fake after just one use and I also figured using it in the shower would be super easy. Well, I thought right! This product definitely works, but you HAVE to be consistent to see results. I used it for about a week and half and saw a noticeable difference. However, I've been slacking lately and it's fading away. I wish I got the medium shade instead of light because I probably would have seen results a little quicker, making me more likely to use it on the reg. I don't like being in the shower forever (it takes long enough to wash my hair lol) so even though this is a small extra step, it was hard for me to be consistent.
Now let's talk liquid lipsticks. As much as I love makeup, I'm not a huge lipstick girl. Most of the time I would rather just wear a tinted lip balm. However, the liquid lipsticks that are oh so popular right now serve as a happy medium. I have two current faves: 1. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in the shade Melted Marshmallow and 2. Tarte Tartiest Lip Paint in the shade Namaste. A pink lip is essential for spring/summer and a nude lip is always essential. I like the one by Too Faced because it goes on nicely and the color is literal perfection. I LOVE the one by Tarte because it goes on SO smooth and it also dries smooth (major bonus points). I would have purchased a pink shade by Tarte, but I couldn't find one that was quite right which is why I went with the one by Too Faced. I am curious to see how the melted matte shades are so they are next on my list to get!
Last, but not least, I finally tried the Too Face Better Than Sex mascara. I'm not sure if the name is completely accurate (ha), but it is pretty good. I had been using (and loving) the Urban Decay Perversion mascara, so when my tube ran out I decided to try this one since it's all the rage right now. Even though it's pretty good, I wasn't overly impressed. It's definitely comparable to Perversion, so I'll have to see which one I repurchase.
Thanks for stopping by! Leave comments below with recent products you've been loving!
