Happy Wednesday! This week is flying by for me - anyone else?! A couple weeks ago, I shared a Sephora haul on my insta stories so today I wanted to follow up with my thoughts! This was my first time purchasing products from First Aid Beauty and Laura Mercier. Overall, I'm pretty impressed! And if you're wondering why I didn't include the NARS products I picked up, keep reading ;)
LAURA MERCIER LOOSE SETTING POWDER
If you've been following me for a while, you know that the Make Up For Ever Pressed Setting Powder has been my forever go-to. As much as I love it, I was in the mood to try something new. I've always heard great things about Laura Mercier products, especially the setting powder, so I decided to give it a try! To say the least, this is definitely my favorite purchase from this haul.
Let's start with application. I purchased the velvet pouf by Laura Mercier that is recommended for applying the powder. If you're used to using a brush, it can be a weird transition at first, but once you get familiar with it, it's easy as pie! I apply the powder after my foundation and it goes on so smooth. It seriously keeps my foundation in place all day. Even though I apply my bronzer, blush, and highlight on top of it, it also helps keep those powders in place all day too. I've seen a major difference in the way my makeup lasts. It literally does not budge! This setting powder is a definite #win that I will continue to repurchase!
LAURA MERCIER TINITED MOISTURIZER - ILLUMINATING
While I was browsing through the Laura Mercier products, this tinted moisturizer caught my eye. It has SPF 20 which is essential for summer (all year round, really, but summer the most). I love the fact that it's illuminating instead of matte. I typically prefer a matte finish for every day; however, now that I will be at the beach almost every weekend, the illuminating finish is nice! I got mine in the shade bare radiance, but I believe it comes in four different options, depending on how glowy you want to look!
The product comes out a bit thicker than I thought it would, which is a bonus because it gives a little extra coverage than previous tinted moisturizers I have tried. It goes on super smooth and gives a nice, healthy glow. It's also very hydrating! In the swatch below I did not rub it in all the way because I wanted you see the radiance This product is non comedogenic which means it will not clog your pores! I always look for this quality when choosing a foundation or tinted moisturizer. If you love tinted moisturizers, you have to give this one a try! I am definitely sold.
FIRST AID BEAUTY HELLO FAB COCONUT SKIN SMOOTHIE PRIMING MOISTURIZER
Talk about a mouthful of name haha, this priming moisturizer by First Aid Beauty has been a great addition to my every day make up routine! I love that it's a two in one product. The scent is amazing and it also has a slight tint to it. I honestly think the combination of this priming moisturizer and the Laura Mercier setting powder I talked about above is what keeps my makeup looking flawless all day long! The only downside is that this product does not have SPF. It wasn't a total make or break for me, but it's definitely a bummer.
FIRST AID BEAUTY PURE SKIN FACE CLEANSER
I'm always up for trying new cleansers because I think it's good to give your skin a break and try something new. I typically don't use foaming cleansers because they have been too harsh on my skin in the past. When reading the description of this cleanser, it is described as a cream cleanser. Well. When I got it home and used it, I knew the second I squeezed some out that it was going to foam. Although I was discouraged, I still tried it, and to my surprise I have not had an issue with it yet! Good thing, since I bought the full size haha. I've been using it in the morning and love the fresh scent. It definitely makes my skin feel clean and awake. As long as it doesn't give me issues, it's a keeper!
Thank you so much for reading!
As part of my haul shared on insta stories, I also purchased my go-to foundation & bronzer, both by NARS which you can read about here!
